Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Strategic Communications Manager at our office in Frederick Maryland to support our Defense Health Agency (DHA), Medical Logistics Division client. Our client supports DoD's medical readiness mission by enhancing inter-Service medical department cooperation, promoting interoperability, and providing a forum for joint clinical coordination of medical materiel issues.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

    The implementation of IAs, Voluntary Incentive Pricing Agreements (VIPA)s, or other pricing instruments, providing implementation instructions to vendors and coordinating the signing of IAs between vendors and the COR/ACOR.
  • Acting as the focal point for all marketing and communication activities and strategies in support of the MMESOs.
  • Implementing marketing campaigns and developing material to help the MMESOs achieve an understanding and clear vision for its standardized products, processes, and methodologies. This material, with the approval of the DHA MEDLOG Division Director, will be transmitted via e-mail communication, direct mail, brochures, the organization's website advertisements and other marketing communication vehicles to convey the MMESO's enterprise initiative.
  • Working closely with the DHA MEDLOG Division IT Team to establish coordinate, and manage the DHA MEOLOG Division website to ensure content continuity.
  • Create and implement high-level strategic communication plans and messaging schedule.
  • Act as the liaison between developers and end users, bridging the communication gap.
  • Coordinate activities with beta users (setting up training, submitting access requests, answering questions, etc.)
  • Maintain and update SOPs
  • Maintain the client's brand and integrate it into communication vehicles.
  • Produce and edit content for internal news articles, targeted email messages, websites, print materials, blog posts, reports, talking points, and videos.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly highlights and release notes.
  • Review all outgoing office products for grammar, consistency, and style.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Communications. Business. Management or other related technical area is required.
  • This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing. communications, business management, or other related technical area and should have a strong understanding of the DoD MHS enterprise.
  • The Strategic Communication Manager must possess excellent communication skills co include writing and editing. To be successful, this person should possess strong project management skills to ensure implementation team success,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent writing, editing, and briefing skills
  • The ability to develop strategic messages for a variety of audiences
  • Experience with establishing and advancing an organization's brand
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to balance tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to pass a US government background investigation; US citizenship required

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • Previous DOD experience.
  • Prior experience with IT systems and communicating technical concepts in user centric language - essentially transforming technical content into easily understandable language
