About the Team

You will be part of the Inventory Planning and Finance team responsible for the achievement of our topline and bottom-line financial targets through analytics and expense management with our cross-functional partners. With our pivotal role in the company's operations, we enjoy high visibility and collaborate closely with leadership to steer the business.

Overview of the Senior Financial Analyst

You will take an active role in key financial processes, including month-end close activities, reporting of key performance indicators, forecast planning, and financial decision support for executive leadership and key stakeholders. You will work in close partnership with business partners providing full financial support and applying business and analytical skills to ensure sound financial decisions are made.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting month-end close process, financial forecasting, and budgeting for Williams Sonoma brand through variance analysis, preparation of month-end accruals, and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including sales, margin, and operating expenses. Providing strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon this analysis.
  • Investigating, analyzing, and presenting recommendations regarding various special projects related to business operations.
  • Reporting on brand performance, adapting reporting as needed to support key business initiatives and strategies.
  • Presenting results to brand leadership, corporate finance, and key business partners.

Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or a related degree
  • 3+ years relevant work experience in a financial role
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced financial modeling skills
  • Working knowledge of Essbase and Oracle ERP a plus
  • Self-motivated, flexible, positive attitude, and intellectually curious
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; innovative, organized, and thorough.
  • Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the San Francisco office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic

The expected starting pay range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
