Transmission Line Project Manager

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
HDR's Transmission Line Project Manager is part of HDR's team of Power Delivery professionals and works in close coordination with other team members to manage and execute the engineering and design components of projects. Specific duties include: developing a partnership with the principal Project Manager, where the principal PM is responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client management, and the Transmission Line PM is responsible for technical execution of the project; developing and implementing a project execution plan for the technical aspect of projects; assigning project tasks and providing technical guidance to project team members; supporting the technical aspect of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development and implementation, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management; coordinating and/or performing quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables per the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures to deliver a world class quality product to the client and performing quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams on an as needed basis; working independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, EIT's, or CADD/Designers; leading multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations; working with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise; attending training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the discipline; assisting with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR's technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events; and participating in project reviews as needed.

Required Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering field and 7 years' experience in transmission line engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure from any US jurisdiction.
- Required experience must include experience in: engineering analysis and design for transmission line facilities with voltages up to 765kV; route selection; material acquisition; structural and foundation design; preparing construction and material specifications; structural transmission line design software PLS Suite, FAD, L-Pile; MicroStation; and MS Project
