Location: Oak Creek, WI within Drexel Town Square Health Center

This job is ON - SITE.

FTE: 0.001000

Hours: Minimum of four 8-hour shifts a month (8am-4:30pm). No weekends, no holidays.

Job Summary:

The Cancer Center Technician Sr is an essential member of the patient-centered cancer healthcare team. This individual, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurses provides delegated age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. Contributes to patient care by assisting with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to pre-visit planning, vital signs, performing blood draws, maintaining the environment of care, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, review of discharge instructions. Manages supply inventory, and/or assisting providers and other members of the Cancer Center interdisciplinary care team to enhance the patient care experience.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or GED is required. One of the following is also required: 1. Completion of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, or 2. Current staff with Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification and at least 5 years of ambulatory cancer experience will be grandfathered in the role, or 3. Graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training and 3 years formal on the job Medical Assistant experience, or 4. Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials: a) Certified Medical Assistant, b) Registered Medical Assistant, c) Assessment-Based Recognition Order Entry within 90 days of hire. Graduate of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) is preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.
