Student Research Assistant - Orthopedics (Bone Healing Lab)

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation's Bone Healing Lab (located on the Oakdale Research Campus in Coralville) is looking for undergraduate research assistants.

This position is for up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week in the summer. Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle, Cambus, or other form of transportation) and be available evenings and weekends.

Duties for the position include:

Assisting with the daily laboratory activities, assisting with animal care, record keeping, data entry, and general laboratory cleaning, and assist with other duties as assigned by management in support of the goals of the lab.

Required Qualifications include:

Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, organize priorities, and work independently to meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well within a cohesive team.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.

Ability to learn and perform lab procedures as well as follow oral and written instructions accurately.

Desired Qualifications include:

Previous laboratory experience.

Experience with data entry.

Experience with research animals.

Interest in Orthopedic research.

Science or Engineering major.

This position is only open to undergraduate students registered at an accredited institution. This position is open to UIowa students (S924) or non-UIowa students (PZ07) from which one will be hired.
