Colder Products Company (CPC) is the leading provider of quick disconnect couplings, fittings and connectors for plastic tubing. At CPC, we believe that fluid handling should be safe and easy. CPC is a Dover company based in the Minnneapolis/St. Paul area with global offices and operations in Europe and Asia.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the flow of raw material, parts and assemblies to support the production and delivery of product within assigned CPC Business Unit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full purchasing cycle including generating requisitions, maintaining purchase orders, goods receipt, and payment using Oracle and ASCP.
  • Review, prioritize, schedule and expedite the delivery of material components to meet target dates and prevent stock shortages.
  • Plan and collaborate to develop weekly Production Schedule to support customer demand ensuring high levels of delivery performance and optimization of resources.
  • Manage supplier performance, provide supplier feedback, and manage corrective actions.
  • Identify and manage risk to supply and delivery of customer orders.
  • Engage cross-functional teams to address and resolve overall delivery issues.
  • Support quoting process with suppliers as needed.
  • Optimize inventory investment to provide target service levels at lowest cost.
  • Effectively manage excess and obsolete inventories.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and performance through recurring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work with accounts payable to investigate and resolve invoice issues.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product launches and operational improvement projects.
  • Partner with the strategic sourcing team to support cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Maintain Oracle master data for suppliers and SKUs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a focus on cost reduction and supplier performance improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred but not required.

Travel:

  • Minimal, up to 10%
