Job Description

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Svcs Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Regeneron, 81 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY, 12155Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7 am - 3:30 pm (may vary as needs dictate)Payrate: $22.93 per hourWhat we're looking for:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service
  • Computer literacy including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing
  • Effective communication both verbal and written
  • Proactive thinking with the ability to self-motivate, prioritize tasks, and meet goals
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional, can-do demeanor

Preferred Experience:

  • Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know knowledge
  • Cross referencing and inside sales experience
  • Knowledge of scientific products and services

In this role you will:
  • Site Coverage role will involve cross training for all services provided by Avantor Inventory Services (on the job training will be provided).
  • Continuing education for activities handled by Onsite Technicians and Coordinators will be expected.
  • Required travel between multiple buildings as needed (travel by vehicle may be necessary).
  • Daily/weekly changes assignment changes to be expected.
  • Wearing of safety-toe footwear, safety glasses, and other customer defined protective garments will be required in specific work areas.
  • Some work areas require donning of extreme cold temperature protective clothing (jackets, gloves, etc.).
  • Inventory management (consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site, and fulfilling customer metric reporting.
  • Performs inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting.
  • Provides daily customer service functions and communicates with the customer relative to inventory management.
  • Purchasing functions including back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, handling quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.
  • Responsible for all customer service related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.
  • Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections.
  • Training on forklift operations/safety may be required.
  • Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
  • Communicates with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.
  • Responsible for running consigned, non-consigned, customer owned or 3rd party inventory.
  • Uses Avantor and customer computer systems (Avantor Inventory Management Systems, SAP, Oracle and other customer specific systems) in fulfillment of job duties.
  • Meets goals and objectives: safety, performance and quality.
  • Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
  • Reviewing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$42,000.00 - $70,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
