Responsibilities & Qualifications

Please note: This role will be required to work a hybrid schedule out of our West Bend, WI headquarters.

The Claims Analytics Manager is responsible for conceptualizing, building, and maintaining reporting and analytics tools used by the claims division. With the support of a team of data analysts, this role is responsible for data governance and report certification for claims, creating reports and dashboards, and determining the best approach to solve analytical problems using data. Manage a team of data analysts who are responsible for reporting and analytics needs for the claims division. Plan, manage, and optimize work across team from intake to development, testing, and production phases. Proactively identify opportunities to leverage data in new ways that deliver insight and enhance decision-making. Ensure that the data solutions drive business value and foster a culture of data-driven decision making. Establish and enforce data governance processes within claims to ensure enterprise data quality. Evaluate the ongoing performance of vendor services through establishing and measuring KPIs and SLAs as well as incorporation of vendor data into claims reports and analytics. Own monthly reporting and maintenance, create new, and identify improvement opportunities of claims staffing models. Work with product owners to prioritize and build enhancements that improve data quality and availability for claims. Determine the ROI (Return on Investment) for business initiatives. Provide data expertise for optimal utilization of existing and future products and services. Develop and maintain a future vision for the Claims division on data analytics needs in five years. Facilitate change control, problem management and stakeholder communication. Manage and monitor training on data visualization and analytics tools. Recruit, train, develop and supervise direct reports. Obtain and maintain an awareness of data across the claims division.

Preferred Experience and Skills

    5+ years' experience in Property/Casualty insurance
  • 7+ years' experience with data visualization and analytics
  • 2+ years' experience managing, coaching, or mentoring a team
  • Proficiency with advanced data analysis, data models, data mapping, data profiling, report development and information design
  • SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
  • Understanding of how to provide structure to unstructured data
  • Object oriented programming experience
  • Verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to translate business needs into data requirements
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills based on analytics
  • Experience with Business Objects, PowerBI, snowflake, SSRS, and other reporting and analytics tools
  • Ability to be hands-on, working side-by-side with the team

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
  • Associate in General Insurance designation
