Overview

Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Credit Representative responsible for the reconciliation of accounts, heavy telephone collections as well as field calls to customer accounts. This position requires a self-motivated, energetic, detail minded individual with good analytical skills.

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $28.00/hour based on location, education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage customer portfolios consisting of receivables from equipment sales, rental of equipment, parts and service, and notes receivable.
  • Contact customers via telephone, e-mail, mail, or in person to collect receivables that are past due.
  • Negotiate payment with customers without jeopardizing the relationship with Milton CAT.
  • Analyze daily, weekly and monthly reports to manage account portfolios.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoice balances and credit files.
  • Make adjustments and matching payments to invoices when necessary.
  • Process legal paperwork should collection fail and customer refuses to make payment.
  • Assist internal departments with credit questions.
  • Assist customers with questions or disputes with invoices and assist with paperwork needs relating to customer accounts.
  • Perform rental conversions.
  • Allocate customer payments as needed or at a customer's request.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Five years experience in the credit and collection industry.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
