Title: Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting)
Location:Houston, TX or Charleston, TN.

Salary:$115,000 - $150,000 plus additional bonus
Schedule:Hybrid work schedule up to two days a week after 6 months in the role available

Focus: The Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting) may be located in Houston, TX. Additional locations include Charleston, TN. in this role, you lead the financial cost accounting and reporting of the McIntosh, AL site and direct supervision of the St Gabriel, LA. site cost accountant. This role ensures accounting practices, processes, and accuracy of results for the McIntosh and St Gabriel sites which impacts Olin Corporation's financial results and reporting.

Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting) Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the annual financial planning, support production cost information as well as any studies on plant investment, or restructuring initiated by the business. Local oversight of the annual standard cost-setting process.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes for the Chlor Alkali business at the McIntosh Site and St. Gabriel sites. This includes leading the monthly closing procedures, performing account reconciliations, analyzing results, coordinating business estimates, compiling management reports, and providing special analyses.
  • Ensure the processes, accounting records are compliant with Olin policy and U.S. GAAP. Ensures a robust financial controls structure is in place, functions effectively, appropriately tested to meet the control requirements of senior management, the organization, government, and statutory bodies. Ensure audit readiness and responses to audits.
  • Direct maintenance of fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts and provide interpretative assistance as to the proper capitalization/expensing of outlays and grouping of fixed assets by class, as well as depreciation methodology
  • Partner with the manufacturing organization to support the company's productivity efforts including financial analysis and recommendations for cost optimization projects.
  • Manage and motivate staff, support their professional development, and enable employees to maximize their contribution to the department.
Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting) Minimum Requirements:
  • BS* Finance or Accounting or BSBA* with full Accounting track/program. Masters in Accounting or MBA preferred. CMA or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years related cost accounting experience; preferred background experience to include GAAP and SOX policies and procedures, general ledger systems, and auditing practices.
  • Manufacturing experience/industrial environment.
  • Direct supervision and leadership experience required to include partnering with senior management for financial leadership and collaborative decision-making.
  • SAP or other enterprise systems experience preferred.
  • This position is intended to build bench strength for Olin's Finance organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to McIntosh, AL. Must possess a valid US driver's license.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
