Business Profile:

AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, manufactures superior mechanical inserts, studs, compression limiters, installation tools and military standard bolts. AVK produces blind installed threaded fasteners for transportation and general industrial markets worldwide. We use state of the art high-speed cold forming equipment to produce blind installed threaded inserts and studs. We feature product lines of both unified (INCH) and metric fasteners along with numerous special designs that meet customer application requirements. All aspects of our business are controlled and certified to the exacting requirements of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 international standards. Housed in an 80,000 square-foot facility in the Valencia Industrial Center, AVK has been manufacturing high quality products for over 25 years.

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for directing and managing the entire range of market planning and development, sales promotion and sales activities of organization. This position formulates, recommends, and implements policies and programs in the areas of sales, pricing, market and product research, and related activities, and has full accountability for the customer value proposition for meeting customer needs.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Makes necessary changes to protect or improve company position in market place and with customers adapting necessary change strategies to meet or exceed goals including company market and/or profit positions.
Directs the entire customer value proposition of the company.
Develops and uses continuous improvement change strategies to improve company image and relationship with customers.
Strategically travels on an as needed basis to key customers to build and maintain visibility of company and individual status as a leader and results oriented achiever of meeting customer needs.
Understands importance of personal contact with customers regarding maintaining or improving customer value proposition of image and relationship.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, discount rates, directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
Responsible for the overall functioning, coordination, and evaluation of the Sales Department throughout AVK, which includes managing, motivating and training the sales staff to achieve sales goals. Supervisory responsibilities also include, accordance with the organizations polices and applicable laws, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Institutes best in class sales force management and tools to ensure the sales workforce is maximizing efficiency and sales goals.
Responsible for complying with and enforcing all company safety rules and regulations and eliminating unsafe conditions or practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by Plant General Manager.

Required Skills:

Must be capable of working effectively with minimal direction and supervision
Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational and verbal & written communication skills with all levels of the organization
Solid, overall business acumen and a strong mindset for continuous improvement; Six Sigma & Lean experience is desirable
Analytical skills; personal accountability; strong organizational skills, and Performance Management experience
Attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
High energy level and ability to work flexible hours
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Strong computer skills; advanced use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook; other productivity tools

Experience & Education


B.S. or B.A. Degree (preferably in Technical Field, Marketing or Business Administration).
10+ years Sales experience in automotive and manufacturing environments
Supervisory experience leading teams of people and strong track record of obtaining results through others

For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $125100 to $187700 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 30% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
