Material Handler II
Description/Job Summary
This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. The position is responsible for movement and necessary inventory control functions associated with physically moving Work in Progress (WIP), raw materials, supplies, and Finished Good Inventory (FGI) throughout the facility. A primary focus is to be maintained on assigned responsibilities of safely moving and distributing materials from one location to another and will be involved in the process of extracting and loading material to be transported. This position will require reading work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved, loaded and unloaded from trailers and containers
Responsibilities/Duties
  1. Maintain active forklift license and clean safety record
  2. Assist in monitoring and receiving pallets, corrugate, chipboard, materials, and supplies accurately and on time according to the delivery schedule and efficiently input of data into the Integrated Bagging System Inventory System (IBSPS) utilizing tablets.
  3. Assist in picking finished goods from designated areas per customer orders, prepare and verify necessary paperwork, and load trailers accurately and on time
  4. Assist in other departments' material handling needs as available and applicable
  5. Responsible for complying with all OSHA, MSDS, and C-TPAT regulations as well as Minigrip safety program
  6. Ensure that the workplace is safe, professional, clean, and conforms to good manufacturing practices and a"5s" style organizational program
  7. Perform other duties as requested by management
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory control
  • Good organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate a forklift
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
