Benchmark is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Payroll Manager in our Fort Wayne, IN office. Assistant Payroll Manager will assist the Payroll Manager in the daily operations of the payroll department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process multistate payroll for 3000+ employees.
  • Process, pay and reconcile multistate payroll taxes ensuring the timely processing of federal, state, local tax filings, payments and corrections to prevent inappropriate penalties and interest assessments.
  • Provide support with the execution of payroll in accordance with defined processes.
  • Process and maintain all garnishment, child support, wage withholding orders and interrogatories.
  • Research and process all non-discretionary bonuses.
  • Process Flexible Spending Accounts.
  • Assist Payroll Manager in processing W-2s.
  • Responsible for special assignments assigned by Payroll Manager.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Strong time management skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least three (3) years of payroll experience
  • Management experience preferred
  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
