Position Overview

C&S is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong design, project management, technical and creative skills to provide mechanical design and project management services. Responsibilities include management and oversight of projects including design, quality, schedules, budgets, and client liaison. Must also coordinate with other disciplines within and outside of the firm. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in marketing activities to assist in growing our business.

Position Responsibilities

  • Establishes the overall technical objectives and initiatives of an engineering department. Is aware of Company's goals and focuses on process improvements, development of design templates, and implements design policy and changes in design policy.
  • Serves as technical mentor to department and provides engineering expertise to other departments where needed and as a technical specialist on high-priority or difficult projects.
  • Provides advice to Management regarding emerging niche markets, and pursuit of expertise in new areas.
  • May include management of large or several small high-profile projects. May be required to present internally or externally, as well as publish articles.
  • Management and oversight of technical activities for engineering projects including quality, schedules, budgets, and client liaison, and administration of consultant and subconsultant agreements. Primary focus is larger, higher profile projects.
  • Coordinate project staff and maintenance of group utilization, as well as coordination with other disciplines within, and outside of the firm.
  • Active participation in marketing activities, including development of technical and cost proposals.
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field with professional licensure preferred
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the AEC industry or another related role
  • Expertise in CAD
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Organizational and Technical Writing Skills
  • Technical responsibility for a specific discipline
  • Ownership of budgets, schedules, and quality
  • Advanced analytical and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop opportunities that will keep team or department utilized
  • Ownership of clients, projects and staff

Estimated Compensation Range: $115,000-135,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
