POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Quality Systems, provide support for quality system activities to assure conformance to established specifications and compliance to FDA 21 CFR 117/111 regulation and certificate standards. Work on projects regarding external regulations, agency guidelines, and internal policies to assure compliance. Facilitate the optimization and continuous improvement of internal quality systems to meet department and company objectives. Assist in maintaining quality systems when assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Define processes to be monitored and establish meaningful key performance indicators (KPI) with supervisor for each project
  • Drive improvement in all respective areas and other areas of influence
  • Implement, maintain and improve a variety of long and short-term projects, at the direction of the Quality Supervisor to meet the business need
  • Participate in gathering/creating documents and/or related information for Electronic Communication Networks (ECN's) as needed prior to approval
  • Implement additional actions for ECN's after approval as needed
  • Coordinate/facilitate projects with other parties
  • Maintain Quality Systems as assigned (Document Control, TraceGains etc.)
  • Write reports, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Work in a team environment with only minimal supervision
  • Comfortable with cross-department conversations and projects
  • Assist in leadership and organization to the Quality team
  • Maintain Quality Documents on the internal intranet (SharePoint) and customer site (SIDI)
  • Work with the Operations team to perform Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective & Preventive actions
  • Provide backup in the Quality Laboratory as needed
  • Provide back-up to Quality Systems Coordinator as needed
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor with any duties as requested
  • Complete plant & warehouse daily inspections and participate in plant process and internal audits
  • Manage the Master Sanitation Program
  • Any additional tasks assigned by Supervision or Management

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field with at least 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory; or equivalent field experience
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and organize technical data for communications and analysis
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and possess good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • The ideal candidate possesses certifications in HACCP/HARPC, and SQF; and training in environmental monitoring, auditing, and statistical process control
  • The ideal candidate is familiar with FDA appendix 1 and how to navigate and identify hazards
