Responsible for various operational aspects of the Mortgage Loan Operations area. When necessary, will also assist other lending personnel in various duties to ensure that successful operation of the department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs the scheduling, processing, review, preparation and delivery of documentation necessary for the origination of mortgage loans for the bank's portfolio which comply with bank guidelines. This would include but not be limited to construction loans and vacant lot loans.
  • Prepares required documents for home equity lines of credit. This would include but not be limited to reviewing all supporting documentation, contacting loan officers or branch support personnel regarding any deficiencies, preparing and distributing required documentation.
  • Prepares required documents for mortgage loan modifications. This would include but not be limited to reviewing all supporting documentation, contacting loan officers or branch support personnel regarding any deficiencies, preparing and distributing required documentation.
  • Responsible for updating all appraisal information on the department's loan processing system and ensures that all borrower(s) receive copies of their appraisal within required bank guidelines.
  • Handles and/or distributes all incoming Mortgage Center emails.
  • Inputs new loans, disburses loan proceeds when required, completes applicable 1099-S reporting and performs any other required file maintenance on the ITI data system.
  • Assists loan officers and branch support personnel with questions regarding loan documentation, HMDA and general real estate lending.
  • Assists with the preparation of closed loan files for shipment to appropriate secondary market investor or the Bank's sub-servicer. Assists with the preparation of secondary market loan fundings.
  • May assist with obtaining verbal Verifications of Employment and Third-Party Verifications of Existing Business in compliance with bank and investor guidelines.
  • Cross-sells bank products and services in a professional manner.
  • Completes required training associated with job function.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
Experience:
  • Prefer 3 years financial institution or loan experience.
Skills:
  • Good understanding of residential mortgage lending.
  • Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
  • Good computer skills with a thorough understanding of mortgage loans, loan system and ITI data system.
  • Good communication and organizational skills in order to work with other bank employees in a professional manner.
  • Adequate knowledge of both internal policies and procedures, investor guidelines and the respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.
