Job Description

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Wood & Fiber Accounting Team. In this role, you create value for the organization as you provide month end close support, as well as accounting reconciliation and analysis. We are seeking candidates with the ability to quickly develop meaningful partnerships and drive results. This role will partner with our Wood & Fiber Supply business and capability leaders to provide enterprise solutions, aligned priorities, and identify opportunities for process improvement and transformation.

A successful candidate must be self-directed and able to manage multiple projects. You must also possess knowledge of accounting and financial principles, strong internal financial control values, a keen attention to detail, and be an active learner. Our Team This position reports to a Controller who will provide feedback and guidance on your career development journey. The broader Controllers organization includes individuals that provide support to 125+ operating locations across the US, as well as at our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA. We have meaningful work to do and many opportunities to contribute! Alumni from our teams can be found throughout the Koch Industries/GP organization.

Georgia-Pacific Packaging & Cellulose is a global leader in the packaging business. We manufacture standard corrugated containers as well as many specialty-packaging products, for many industries. Specifically, our packaging products fall under three main categories: Corrugated, Mailers, Coatings.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Own the overall accounting activities for a fast paced organization (Pine Chemicals)
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Review a large volume of data and identify discrepancies using multiple systems, follow up until resolution is in place
  • Ensure that business reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Support the business by facilitating a strong internal financial control environment
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis
  • Actively engage with internal customers, developing strong relationships with leadership to better understand and anticipate business needs
  • Work with internal and external auditors and support the annual audit process
  • Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for process improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions, and drive results
  • Partner with other Centers of Excellence & finance teams, including the Analysis COE, IFC COE, Shared Services, Capital COE, and the Koch Global Services Accounting Organization
  • Advance the Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Guiding Principles

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in an Accounting or Finance focused role(s) that demonstrates a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, month end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and internal financial controls

  • Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and a desire to learn multiple accounting systems and tools
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Infinium experience
  • Experience with data analysis/visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, One Stream)
  • Developing solid process documentation, SOP's, and promoting best practices
  • System implementation, system upgrade, testing and/or reconciling transactions between multiple systems
  • Experience leading a team or developing capability in others; you connect people to a larger vision and strategy and keep them motivated and engaged
