Addiction Medicine Unit

Days, 20 Hrs./week, Weekend work required

The RN / Registered Nurse will be in on our 18 bed Addiction Medicine Unit (AMU). The Division of Addiction Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center works to promote and improve the provision of medical care to patients with substance use disorders and co-morbid medical conditions through:

  • The creation and dissemination of knowledge related to the medical care of individuals with a substance use disorder.
  • The development, maintenance and evaluation of innovative programs related to the care of individuals with a substance use disorder.
  • The mentorship of current and future clinicians in providing sensitive expert care to individuals with a substance use disorder.

The RN / Registered Nurse is responsible for independently planning, coordinating, and directing those activities essential to the provision of quality nursing care for assigned patients; coordinating the medical plan provided by support service departments relating to the assigned patients; identifying and implementing nursing interventions and evaluates results; and demonstrating developing leadership qualities.

Qualifications:

  • Current Maryland or Compact RN license
  • CPR certification - AHA, Red Cross
  • Associate degree in nursing required, BSN preferred, BSN to be completed within four years
  • Previous RN experience required, psychiatry experience preferred.
