Position Summary:
Coordinates and executes functions in the Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Grant. Provides leadership and supervision to Student Support Services staff.
Typical Essential Duties
Oversees special programs implemented in campus-based Student Services Centers;
Assumes responsibility for de-escalation and conflict resolution;
Provides evaluation reports regarding progress in achieving measurable student services outcomes of Program quality and student performance;
Remains current regarding college curriculum, policies and procedures;
Coordinates New Student Orientations
Follows federal, state, college and department guidelines;
Defines and inputs strategic planning.
Serving students who are eligible for Student Support Services, including those who are first general, economically disadvantaged, and students with disabilities
Supervise staff and programming on two campus locations (St. Pete/Gibbs and Clearwater)
Prepare and submit reports and budget plans to the Department of Education
Prepare SSS Cultural activities/events (museum trips, etc.) and 4-year college/university tours
This is the third of six levels in the Student Support Professional series. The classification is responsible for coordinating student services and activities in an assigned area. Incumbent responsibilities generally include providing direct student assistance; ensuring consistency and compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations or guidelines; coordinating services with other departments and outside agencies; developing and evaluating programs and services; coordinating and facilitating special events; and, developing marketing and promotion strategies. Incumbents may have formal supervisory responsibility over support and/or technical staff.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area. Master's degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
One (1) year of management experience in a field related to assigned area.
