Network Operations Center Technician II

Description

Serves as a lead worker in a team responsible for the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware problems for the enterprise network systems; ensures that hardware and peripheral equipment are operational and scheduled production is accomplished in a timely manner; leads staff in monitoring endpoint protection/detection for anomalies using designated escalation paths for remediation; reviews and monitors Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) log data for unauthorized access and initiates investigations as necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
  • Five (5) years of progressively more responsible computer operation experience, four (4) years of which shall have included specialized experience in computer hardware operation and experience as a help desk or support center technician.
  • May be required to work evenings and/or night shifts on a regular or rotating basis, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of the procedures, techniques, and related software used in the operation of network and peripheral equipment hardware.
  • Knowledge of and skill in the use of applicable enterprise technologies, server and network monitoring devices, routers and switches.
  • Ability to train and mentor employees.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a 24/7/365 data center.
  • Experience working with CrowdStrike or other industry accepted SIEM tools.
  • Experience training technicians with SIEM tools and incident management.
  • Knowledge of the field of cybersecurity and the methods of assessing and maintaining computer security.
  • Knowledge of common security tools like intrusion detection systems, endpoint detection and response systems such as CrowdStrike, and SIEM software.

Salary Range

$62,158 - $104,924
