Reporting to the Senior Program Officer for Resettlement, the Program Officer will support the work of the Reception & Placement (R&P) team by ensuring full and timely compliance with the Department of State Cooperative Agreement and all requirements therein. This work will be carried out primarily through the maintenance, creation, and dissemination of external-facing R&P materials and the provision of professional training and technical assistance (both in-person and web-based) for the LIRS network. The Program Officer will serve as the lead for R&P reporting and ensuring ongoing compliance with local community engagement requirements. This position requires attention to detail, excellent data management, use of technology, and demonstrated experience providing R&P services.

This position can be remote with trips to Baltimore as needed.

DUTIES

  • Interpret and analyze changes to the Cooperative Agreement each year, ensuring R&P tools and systems are updated in collaboration with the R&P team.
  • Conduct R&P training for the network, including training for New Directors and annual conferences.
  • Provide expert technical assistance and guidance to affiliate staff on a wide range of R&P issues including real-time service provision challenges, R&P requirements, affiliate site monitoring visits, and R&P client inquiries.
  • Track the completion and compliance with affiliate quarterly reporting on Quarterly Consultations and community engagement efforts.
  • Complete Performance Improvement Plans with affiliate sites
  • Contribute to the completion of federal reports, with input from other colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively across units to fulfill R&P compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, non-profit management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with the Department of State's Reception and Placement Program, is required.
  • Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers in a case management capacity is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing and tracking data.
  • Ability to write and edit reports and clearly interpret technical requirements.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of database management, and other computer applications. This position will require managing several web-based platforms.

  • Ability and willingness to travel 5% of the time.
