We believe in hiring talented and dedicated individuals as members of our administrative community.  We draw on the strength of our culture and structure to deliver the best of our firm to our lawyers and clients through true collaboration.  The firm is seeking a Receptionist for the DC office.  This is a dual role which will be the “Voice” of the firm, providing top client service over the phone with fast and accurate responses, often connecting calls or answering general firm questions as well as the “Face” of the firm, being the first one a client will see when they arrive, providing guidance and direction to their destination.  The Receptionist will work closely with attorneys and staff as well as clients and visiting lawyers from other offices.  This position will also play an important role in assisting the Legal Recruiting Department with greeting candidates arriving for interviews. The Receptionist reports to the Office Manager.  The hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Operate telephone switchboard and messaging systems
  • Coordinate video/audio conferences and long distance calls upon request
  • Greet and direct all visitors
  • Assist associate recruiting with candidate interviews, greeting and notifying proper attorneys of their interview schedules
  • Oversee conference room scheduling and maintenance.  Makes sure rooms are properly set up, and communicating with Office Services if there are issues
  • Work closely with facilities and office services and backs them up when needed
  • Serve as back up for IT Manager for video conferences and telephone equipment
  • Make arrangements for visitors including office assignments, catering and car service, etc.
  • Serve as back up for assistants and legal assistants
  • Perform various tasks as assigned
 
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.  Must be proactive and resourceful. The ideal candidate should also possess a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills to interact successfully with clients, lawyers and firm staff at all levels, and demonstrate discretion and professional judgment.
 Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel and PDF programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong attention to detail is critical and must be demonstrated
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
