Brokerage Logistics Sales Manager


Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Brokerage Logistics Sales Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of four or more members in facilitating the movement of freight for farmers, optimizing carrier capacity, overseeing operations management, implementing efficient Trace and Trace procedures, and minimizing waste and claims. This role requires a strong background in logistics, sales, and team management, as well as exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and lead a team of four or more members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure individual and collective success.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture focused on achieving goals and exceeding customer expectations.
  1. Freight Movement:
    • Coordinate the movement of freight for farmers, ensuring timely pickup and delivery while optimizing routes and minimizing costs.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers to secure capacity and negotiate favorable rates.
  1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking shipments to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
    • Implement strategies to streamline processes and improve operational effectiveness.
  1. Trace and Trace:
    • Establish and maintain robust Trace and Trace procedures to track shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle, providing real-time updates to customers and resolving any issues promptly.
    • Utilize technology and data analytics to enhance visibility and transparency in the supply chain.
  1. Waste Reduction:
    • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and inefficiencies in transportation processes, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing environmental impact.
    • Implement sustainable practices and initiatives to enhance operational sustainability.
  1. Claims Management:
    • Proactively manage and minimize claims by implementing risk mitigation strategies, conducting thorough investigations, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to address root causes of claims and implement preventive measures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage, with a focus on sales and operations management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology, including TMS (Transportation Management System) and tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in transportation and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet targets, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

      With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
