Position Summary

Develops company-wide policies and procedures for Safety and provides subject matter expertise on a variety of safety disciplines. Maintains knowledge of, interprets regulatory compliance with safety and health regulations, policies, and organizational safety and health programs. Leads safety process improvement initiatives as needed. Partners with functional areas to implement Safety programs and advises business groups by providing direction on the development of procedures to assist the organization. Oversees process and procedure development, implementation, and communication. Frequently travels to remote locations as lone worker. Maintains communication with colleagues and FA Leaders both in-person and virtually. Responsible for safety of self and sets example for others to follow. Occasionally travels for emergency work including wildfires, storm responses and other incidents. Emergency response requires extended time away from home location and extended hours. Communication, collaboration, and coaching skills are essential to the success of this position

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

California Minimum: $120,000.00

California Maximum: $190,000.00

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office, and your assigned location based on business need. Headquarter location is preferred to be in the Southern (Fresno, Stockton, Modesto, Bakersfield San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz) part of PG&E's service territory.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, manages, and controls the activities of a team that provides operational support for a business segment, group, or team.
  • Provides support to emergency preparedness command system.
  • Provides oversight to the design, development, review and implementation of innovative quality products, programs, services, and solutions to support existing safety and health management systems, PG&E safety guidance documents, and the safety goals of the organization.
  • Develops a clear understanding of company goals and objects to ensure overall objectives of the group are met.
  • Ensures daily activity is carried out in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Supports accident investigation team as subject matter expert to help determine causal factors.
  • Ensures mutual collaboration with line of business and integrate in all levels of the organization in regard to safety (field employees, grassroots)
  • Analyzes safety trends and recommends safety corrective actions.
  • Coaches FA Leadership on new safety programs.
  • Serves as a Safety subject matter expert for FA Leaders and field employees.
  • Consults with FA Leaders on incident investigations, SIAP completion and corrective actions development.
  • May attend Safety Kickoffs or morning meetings with crews to discuss new safety information.
  • May support the implementation of companywide safety initiatives developed by others with S&H

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 4 years

Desired:

  • Experience in construction.
  • Experience in O&M-Operations and Maintenance
  • CIH-Certified Industrial Hygienist certification
  • CSP-Certified Safety Professional certification
  • CUSP-Certified Utility Safety Professional certification
