Job Description
Responsibilities

The Controller is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the overall financial management of high growth businesses in the Product Division. This includes general accounting, budgeting and forecasting, and financial reporting in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and consistent with the policy on ethical practices. This position assists the CFO in ensuring that the internal controls are adequate to safeguard the facility's assets and that the accounting systems are sufficient to generate accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage growing team and oversee the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll functions. Ensure that the staff provides the highest level of technical accuracy and service excellence to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Coordinate and supervise completion of the monthly financial statements and financial packages for multiple businesses. This includes reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Complete all tax documents specific to the Product Division businesses. This includes annual tax package, property tax accruals, sales and use tax returns, and property tax valuation returns.
  • Coordinate and supervise the completion of the annual operating budget financial statements including all income and expense reports and statistical reports for the Product Division businesses.
  • Work with various departments across the individual businesses to ensure the proper utilization and accounting of capital and operating resources.
  • Coordinate and supervise the retrieval and development of all supporting documents and analyses related to internal and external audits. The audits include, but are not limited to, Medicare Cost Report and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Complete/coordinate ad hoc projects and prepare related spreadsheets, analyses, and other materials needed to support the Product Group businesses.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8 - 10 Years' Financial Experience
  • CPA Preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally-Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Hospital Finance or Accounting Experience Preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Thorough understanding of financial accounting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, McKesson, ERP and Hyperion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Patience and ability to manage stress in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Creating and presenting financials to Product Divisions' Senior Leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
