Aviation Mechanical Engineer

Sierra Nevada Corporation is looking for 2 Mechanical Engineers to work in Hagerstown MD
Our aircraft fly in support of different gov. programs all over the world!

This person will, with guidance from more senior engineer(s), will understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific customer requirements.

Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities. Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews.

Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with customer quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as required by more senior engineer(s), Project Engineer or Program Manager.

• 3+ years minimum Primary and Secondary Structures Engineering Aircraft Industry experience.
• 4 year Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Must be AutoCAD 2004 and Solidworks proficient and able to create the following types of drawings:
• Aircraft Detail Parts Fabrication drawings.
• Aircraft Parts Assembly drawings.
• Aircraft Part / Assembly Installation drawings.
• Aircraft Structural Repair drawings.
• Solid Works 3 Dimensional Modeling experience.
• NASTRAN or COSMOS Works Finite Element Modeling (FEM) experience a plus.
• Ability to create / revise aircraft technical documents.
. Ability to perform basic aircraft structural/ Stress Analysis.
• Previous experience and familiarity with FAR part 21, 23, 25 fixed wing requirements.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 27 and 29 (ROTOWING) a plus.
. Previous experience and familiarity with the STC process.
• Ability to work together with planning and shop personnel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual.
• Security Clearance preferred.
